There's like one person in those comments who actually knows any polymer chemistry and OP is trying to argue with them. When you think of plastics and their dangers, you might think of something like Bisphenol A or phthalates or microplastics contaminating food and water. That is not PVA and PVA can't contaminate anything with microplastics particles or leach plasticizers.

powder. get rid of the stupid pods, those are the worst. get a box of borax and a box of whatever el-cheapo powder they have. use the pre-wash bin and the main wash bin, go 50/50 borax and soap for the prewash, then straight soap for the main wash. use rinse agent.
